1st semester meeting of the Ulricianum Reading Group

Ever thought about joining the Ulricianum Reading Group? We're a small group of people that love to read books, but hate bad translations. :-) The main goal of this group is not to work actively towards a better English by working on grammar, but to enjoy literature as a personal experience, as a message directly from the author to the reader.

We choose from a very wide range of books, from Shakespeare to Stephenie Meyer, and it's your choice which books you read with us and which you don't. Apart from reading and discussing books, we sometimes meet for other activities, too, that have to do with literature.

(Last semester we watched the BBC mini-series of 'Jane Eyre' and saw 'Romeo and Juliet' on stage right in front of the castle in Gödens). If you want more information, especially on what books to expect, you can check out our blog (http://ulricianumreadinggroup.wordpress.com/ ) or meet us next Friday at 1 pm at the Bahnanum kitchen. We'll be waiting for you!

PS: The book we're reading right now is 'Set this house in order' by Matt Ruff. It deals with a man with multiple personality disorder. A very interesting perspective on perception!!! It should still be easy to catch up with the reading! "
