The contents
The book "Trumpet Voluntary" by Jeremy Harmer deals with a viola player called Derek and his wife Malgosia who has gone away to meet another man in Rio. It would be unfair to tell the whole story but what is important to know is that all this happens after both of them have been married for nearly ten years.
Ten years earlier, when they met for the first time, Malgosia was deeply in love with Tibor, studying the piano and the trumpet and being the man nearly every woman fell in love with.
The book tells us all this at the beginning when Derek realizes that his wife has disappeared. It looks like she got in contact with Tibor again after about three years of her marriage with Derek. So finally, it seems that she went back to her early lover from London but........
Well, all these buts make up quite an entertaining story!
