Vom 05. - 07. Februar hatten wir Besuch von unserer
Partnerschule aus Redruth in Cornwall: Schulleiter Paul
Sharrett und die Comenius – Koordinatorin Janet Rogers ließen
sich u.a. Schule und Stadt zeigen und gewannen ausgesprochen
positive Eindrücke.

Februar 2004: Besuch

about the relationship
Lassen wir doch einfach unsere Partner von der Redruth School aus
Cornwall/England selbst beschreiben, was sie mit uns verbindet...
REDRUTH JOINS NEW
COMENIUS PROJECT!
Comenius Project
Redruth School has recently been
given the chance to join a group of European schools from Aurich
Germany, Nesbru Norway, Kepno Poland, Wroclaw Poland, Newquay
Tretherras and Pribram in the Czech Republic who have been involved
in a European sponsored project called “COMENIUS”. All the
schools will be taking part in a music festival to be held in
Pribram next May. Prior to the festival each school will submit
pieces of music for a CD to be produced in Cornwall with the front
cover for the CD being designed by art students from Redruth. We are
hoping to take 10 students from Redruth School, along with
peripatetic teachers, and they will work and live alongside students
from the other participating European countries. They will be
involved in music workshops, performing several concerts as well as
visiting places of interest including Prague.
What is the idea behind the
Comenius Project?
The aim of the “Comenius Project”
is to encourage multinational partnerships within the European Union
and countries who may join in future years in order to work jointly
on curriculum projects so as to gain an understanding of the
cultural, social and economic backgrounds of the participating
schools.
Funding for the scheme comes partly
from the European Union along with individual schools raising money
through sponsorship and other money making activities.
Schools involved in the project. (If
you have the time have a look at some of their home pages!)
Gymnasium Ulricianum, Aurich, Germany
Liceum Ogolnoksztaicace, Kepno Poland

Landoya Skole, Nesbru, Norway

Newquay Tretherras School, Newquay, UK
Redruth School, Redruth, UK
Following the music festival in Pribram in May 2002 a new 3 year
project is being submitted by the schools to the European Union with
the theme of “Social Integration” and it is hoped that the group
of schools will be further enlarged with a school from the
Netherlands joining in. ( Openbare Scholengemeenschap Piter
