c.a. 40km/h) anzupassen.
Kursfahrt.

9.10.06- 9:30 Schulparkplatz: That is the moment we've all been waiting for. Our trip to Dublin begins. We start our trip on Monday morning at the school parking lot by entering the bus which headed for Hamburg airport.

Abflug Hamburg Airport

Our flight to Dublin airport departed at 16:30 and we arrived 17:30 GMT. From there a bus took us directly to our youth hostel, where. The first impression of Dublin was reinforced by the setting sun atmosphere.

After the distinguishing discovery of a "real" mushroom (not just fungus) in the boy's bathroom, we headed off to Temple bar-a very famous part of Dublin because of the many plus there are- to get some dinner. We walked through the city for first time and it was an impressive first night.

On Tuesday morning we met at 9 o'clock to walk up to Kilmainham jail to have a tour through it. The Kilmainham jail is an important place concerning the revolutionary history of Ireland.
After having seen the harsh living standards of prisoners by that time we dedicated ourselves to the fun part of the day -The Jameson Distillery. We were introduced to the procedure of making Irish whiskey. But the most important and really fun of it was the tasting of Jameson Whiskey afterwards. Four students were selected to compare different sorts of Whiskeys [Scotch (Scotland), Jim Beam (U.S.) and three different Irish Whiskeys).
After having picked Jameson Whiskey as best of five, they received a certificate.
We then walked to the General Post Office and headed off in groups to experience the beautiful city of Dublin. We did some great shopping in stores like Pennys, H+M etc.

At night we went desperately trying to find a club called Whoolshed and arrived there 6 minutes before closing time. It was raining very badly and we were soaking wet.
On Wednesday we went to a cliff walk in Howth where we met Bruno our friendly guiding dog. During the walk Julian Stolte had a bath in the Irish Sea after sightseeing an awesome landscape all around the cliff. Then we were looking around in the Howth harbour and some ate the traditional fish and chips, with salt and vinegar. In the afternoon we went back to Dublin city to buy some souvenirs and to go to Aldi to buy things for dinner.

Julian schwimmt, brrrrr

In the evening most students went to Whoolshed again to watch the German soccer game "Slovakia vs. Germany" and were happy about the German victory, especially since an English guy sat with us and him being sad about the English misery. The whole group met in a cocktail bar afterwards and spent some quality time together.

Thursday morning we walked to the Trinity College and we had a look at "The Book of Kells". From there we made a city tour through Dublin city and Mr. Heine showed us important buildings, important people and other sights of Dublin. Our tour ended at the Dublin castle were we also split up to get to our last things settled for our flight home.
At 7 o'clock the whole group went to dinner together. We ate in an typical American restaurant called Thunderroads with live music and great food.

Then altogether went to Whoolshed again, were on Thursday night there is a Karaoke.
Julian and Sarah did "Something stupid", Dunja and Miriam "let it be" and Miriam again sang "father and son". It was a great evening and the pub was loaded.

Karaokebar (with a real daredevil ;-)

The next morning we packed our stuff and got ready to fly back to Aurich.
It was an awesome and interesting trip and Mr. Heine showed us very nice places and he found a good balance between free time and activities.
