From Santee to Aurich - what's up?

After five days it looks like Aurich and the Ulricianum feel like home. At least that's the impression you can get when meeting some students of the Santee group. Today Ashly and Erik were convinced to fight against the obstacles of the German keyboard and give us some more insights...

Hey my name is Ashly and I'm from San Diego, California. I'm 17 years old and I have only had 3 years of German. We are staying in Aurich for 2 weeks and then in Berlin for one more. At home I surf, cheer, ride dirt bikes, and hang out with friends. I really like Aurich and how everyone here rides bikes everywhere! It's much more fun than driving! I think that the only things i don't like are that everything closes at 8:00 and people are allowed to smoke in restaurants and stuff.

Hey hows it goin?  My name is Erik I am from San Diego too and I am 18 years old.  I have had 3 years of german as well and i am here in Aurich for the second time.  I came here two years ago on the exchange and just had to come back again.  In my free time i like to hang out with my friends, drive around, and go to the desert and ride my dirtbike.  I really like the layed back mentality and nobody is ever in a rush.  But yeah thats pretty much it.
