| 13 A Confrontation | In this chapter Sadie's father and a few other men from the Protestant quarter are searching for Sadie. When the Protestants and the Catholics meet, a policeman is very busy to keep the men away from each other. Suddenly Sadie comes out of the house and tells the people that she was kidnapped by the Catholic children. This is the reason of the argument that nearly develops into a struggle. At the end of this chapter, Mr McCoy arrives at home and gets a fine because of his rotten car. |
| 14 The Eleventh
Day of July

The Eleventh Day of July is
the night when the bonfires are lit. All Protestants are looking forward to it,
especially Sadie. Sadie pulls on her outfit for the 12th and marches through her
room, she is practicing for the event. |
| 15 On the Other Side | Kate gets some money from her father. So she invites her friends to the zoo. On the way back home, they see the bonfires of the Prods, as they call them. In the evening they go to street which borders the Catholic and the Protestant quarter. There they meet some Protestant children. |
| 16 The Fight | The Protestants and the Catholics begin a fight. They throw stones at each other. Brede is hit by a stone and she has to be brought to hospital by an ambulance. |

Although looking forward the march, Sadie and Tommy don't want to walk anymore. They decide to go to hospital to visit Brede. There they meet Kevin who tells them that Brede will soon be OK.. After this message, Kevin, Tommy and Sadie decide to go to the beach together. There they spend a nice day and they ask themselves why Protestants and Catholics can't live together peacefully. |
