The
reactions of people in this story are very different. So there are
people who just put up with apartheid and try to make the best
out of it, like, for example, Nandi´s mother and perhaps other
people of her age. In contrast to that the young people, students like Esther and her
companions, eork actively against the oppressing
regime. But even Khulu, an old woman, expresses her opinion towards
apartheid by her actions.
