 Esther:
She is Nandi's 16 year old cousin playing an important role in the
plot. Esther is a leader in the students' rights movement,
organizing demonstrations and protests against the Apartheid regime.
She
hides the typewriter in her grandmother's kitchen and uses it to
produce the flyers.
When
her two fellow conspirators Themba and Zinzi are arrested by the
police, Esther has to flee and hide.
She
asks Nandi to hide it in a trash can for later retrival.
Her
actions force Nandi and Khulu to go on their dangerous enterprise.
