Stanley
doesn't have any friends. He attends a middle
school and the kids there often tease him because
he's overweight. Sometimes even teachers make
cruel comments without realizing how they hurt
Stanley.
One day when Stanley goes home from school where
he was bullied again, he finds a sneaker and
takes it home because his father needs sneakers.
Unfortunately, it is a special snealer and the
police arrests him. Later on a judge sends him to
Camp Green Lake, a boot camp, to "correct
his bad character".... Stanley has a great-grand-grandfather who is always called the
no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather
because more than a hundred years ago he stole a
pig from a
one-legged Gypsy in Latvia before he got on a ship
to America. Therefore the Gypsy put a curse on
him. And everytime when things go wrong Stanley's
family blames the great-great-grandfather.
Stanley's father was a smart boy and had a lot of
perseverance. His name was Stanley Yelnats III.
He is an inventor.
By the way, they are all called Stanley Yelnats
because if you read the name Stanley
backwards....
