introduction of Stanley's father. About his life
and his family.
My Name is Stanley Yelnats the III.
I'm an inventor and I have a son, who is called Stanley Yelnats the IV.
He is now in Camp Green Lake because he stole a
pair of sneakers. Only for me, because I make an
experiment to find out a way to recycle sneakers.
My wife tells me everyday that the apartment now
smells like old shoes. Everybody says that I'm
smart and full of perseverance, but I don't know
if that's true. My grandpa was kissed by Kissin' Kate Barlow but he survived the
robbery in the desert because he found Big Thumb.
He was called Stanley
Yelnats the I., the II. was just a boring man.
My great-grandpa stole a pig from an old Gipsy woman so a curse lies on our
family, that's why I always say : " I learn
from failure!"
