On the next day, everybody in town knew about the
kiss. The people wanted to burn the schoolhouse
down and to hang Sam, because he was a Negro. I
told Sam about that and we wanted to run away.
Sam was killed and I was rescued. After that I
killed the sheriff, and for the next twenty years
I was one of the most feared outlaws | this is
what I looked like then |.
Twenty years
later I came back to Green Lake. One day Trout
Walker and his wife Linda came. They wanted my
loot. They took me out to the lake, where they
wanted me to dig for them to hand over the
treasure, but then I was bitten by a lizard and I died laughing.
